The film is an adaptation from the classic German Christmas story, The Nutcracker. The concept of the film is to create another version of The Nutcracker, to show multiculturalism. It can be classified as a remake of the original version, but with a little twisting on the placement of the original story. As we know, The Nutcracker is a western fairytale and Geisha is one of the icons from the East culture.
